HOW TO CREATE A TAOBAO ACCOUNT

Already have Alipay or another linked Alibaba ecosystem account? You may not need to start your Taobao setup completely from scratch.

EASIEST METHOD

ALREADY HAVE ALIPAY?

Try using your existing Alipay account to access Taobao first. This can be easier than creating another account and password from the beginning.

STEP 1

OPEN TAOBAO

Download or open the Taobao app. On the login or registration screen, check the available sign-in options before creating a completely new account.

STEP 2 - RECOMMENDED

CHOOSE ALIPAY LOGIN

If you already have an Alipay account, choose the Alipay sign-in or authorization option when it is displayed by Taobao.

Use the same Alipay account that belongs to you. Follow the authorization or verification instructions displayed on your phone.

STEP 3

AUTHORIZE TAOBAO

Follow the prompts to authorize the connection. Taobao may request additional information or verification depending on your account, phone number, country or security status.

STEP 4

COMPLETE YOUR TAOBAO PROFILE

Complete any remaining information requested by Taobao. Once you reach the Taobao home page and can browse products, your access is ready for sourcing.

ALREADY HAVE A 1688 ACCOUNT?

CHECK FOR A LINKED ACCOUNT SIGN-IN OPTION

If you already use 1688, check the Taobao login screen for an available linked Alibaba-account sign-in or authorization option. If it is offered for your account, follow the on-screen instructions rather than creating unnecessary duplicate account details.

DON'T HAVE ALIPAY YET?

Consider creating your Alipay account first, then return to Taobao and use Alipay to sign in or authorize your Taobao access where available.

ALTERNATIVE: CREATE TAOBAO DIRECTLY

If you cannot use an existing linked account, choose the registration option shown by Taobao. Select your country or region where available, enter your mobile number, request the verification code and follow the on-screen instructions to complete registration.

AFTER YOUR TAOBAO ACCOUNT IS READY

You do not have to complete the entire China purchasing and international shipping process yourself. Find the product you want on Taobao, open the product page and copy its product link.

BRING THE PRODUCT LINK TO GETITFY
